How It All Began
In 2002, SanSai® Japanese Grill opened its first location in Glendale, CA, bringing fresh, healthy, and affordable Japanese cuisine to a fast-casual setting. Founded by passionate food lovers with a vision dating back to 1978, SanSai quickly gained popularity for its flavorful dishes and inviting atmosphere. After acquiring SanSai USA assets in 2009, we’ve remained committed to delivering quality, value, and exceptional service across Southern California and beyond.
Our Mission
Our mission at SanSai Japanese Grill is to be the leading national restaurant brand to be known and recognized as the defining standard for the best tasting, highest quality, most convenient and freshest in Japanese quick-casual cuisine. Our business is based on making our menu items fresh from scratch and served with “SanSai™ Spirit”. All our special sauces are made fresh and everything is prepared and cooked to order.
Rooted in Community, Driven by Purpose
At SanSai, we believe in giving back and proudly support our community through various initiatives. In 2013, we launched “Bring a Can, Fill the Van” with a local food bank, offering discounts for food donations. In 2014, we joined Meridian Sports Club’s Customer Appreciation Day with free samples of our grilled chicken and Signature Oriental Salad. Each holiday season, we collect toys for children in need.
